Excerpt from a message I gave during SBIC to the Jr. Highers at City Crossroads

If Jesus really was telling the truth, that he was the Son of God, that he had come to die for the sins of the earth, that God loves us… then that changes everything. It means that God has chosen not only to demonstrate his justice toward us in punishing sin, but also his mercy toward us in giving us a way to escape. And ultimately, by coming here God proved in the most visible and agonizing way possible that he really loves us.  A God who didn’t love us wouldn’t have chosen to come out of a woman’s vagina. A God who didn’t love us wouldn’t have chosen to come to a world with the stomach flu.  A God who didn’t love us wouldn’t have chosen to come to a world where people people betray you, hurt you, break your heart. A God who didn’t love us wouldn’t have chosen to be executed publicly in a humiliating, painful, and slow death. A God who didn’t love us wouldn’t do that. God loves us, and that changes everything.
